Download Match! Pre-release Version
On this page you can download the most recent pre-release version of the Match! software.
Please note that this version has not been officially released and may still contain
bugs or other inconsistencies! Besides this, the documentation may still be incomplete. The
current official version can
be downloaded from here.
The most recent version is 4.3 Build 355 (created April 15, 2026).
To update your current Match! installation to this most recent version please perform the following steps:
-
If Match! is running, please save any open documents and close the program.
- Please DO NOT uninstall the previous version before installing the new version! Instead, simply
install the new version on top of the existing version. This is important to make sure that your license
information is retained.
-
Download the installer file for your platform from below and uncompress ("unzip") it if necessary.
-
Make sure that you have administrator privileges on multi-user systems,
then run the installer by double-clicking on it. More details about this topic are given in the
platform-specific "Readme" files that are also available from the Download page.
-
Follow the steps in the installer until it has finished, then restart Match!.
-
Check whether the update was successful by selecting "About Match!" from
the "Help" menu.
Enhancements compared to current official version
- The degree of crystallinity (DoC) analysis can now optionally be performed completely automatically, by using the new "default empty sample holder" feature as well as activating the corresponding new option on the "Automatic" page of the "Options" window.
- The latest degree of crystallinity (DoC) analysis result is now displayed in the status bar at the bottom of the Match! window. Clicking on the label either displays the detailed results, runs a new DoC analysis, or displays the error message (if a problem during the DoC calculation has occurred).
- Using the new menu command "Quantify / Select/change default empty sample holder pattern" you can rename or delete empty sample holder patterns that are currently stored in the settings.
- The new main menu "Tasks" contains the typical powder diffraction analysis tasks. They are also available as buttons with yellow background in the toolbar.
- If refined data are available for a match list entry, the corresponding "Refined" data sheet is displayed by default (instead of the "Original" data sheet as up to now).
- When running the "Quantify / Reference Intensity Ratio (RIR)" command, Match! now switches over to the display of the profile calculated from the selected phases, e.g. in case a Rietveld refinement has been carried out previously.
- The "Link to orig. entry" in the data sheets of entries derived from the COD has been adapted to the new COD database directory structure.
- A bug affecting the Rietveld refinement of atomic site occupation factors has been fixed.
- Some minor bugs have been fixed.
